Joy

My spirit rejoices at Your beckon

You have done great things

I look around

I look around and see

I smell the air

I feel the ground beneath my feet

I dance

I dance

Joy unspeakable joy

The sun shines above my head

And warms my body

I sing

I sing

I cherish every moment

You are a djembe left on a bus stop on a sunny day

You are the thunder a flower makes in bloom

You are a choir’s croon

There is so much joy in me I can’t contain

I am naked next to the trees

I wiggle my body and wave my hands

You are every instrument in the band

You have done great things

You have done great things

I was lost

And You have done great things

I was hungry

And You have done great things

I was homeless

And You have done great things

I am found and fed and housed

And You have done great things

I cannot praise You enough

For all that You have done

You are a purple sky

On a cold November night

You are snow falling slowly to the ground

You are my grandfather’s memory found

Every breath I take

I am filled with more joy

So I breathe a breath deeper than the last

You

You

Spark joy

Spark dance

Spark praise

You

You

You
