digital wisdom conversations

  • Jarena Lee Legacy (February)

We host Jarena Lee Legacy conversations to celebrate our Preaching Academy namesake and honor trailblazing women and femmes in ministry. This conversation highlights Rev. Lee’s legacy on our ministry today and amplifies the paths we still have to forge.

  • This Cross I Bear (May)

This Cross I Bear discusses mental health and trauma to reduce stigma and equip leaders and preachers with language and resources to live trauma-informed lives and do trauma-informed ministry. This conversation is one of two in our Board curated series.

  • World AIDS Day (December)

This conversation center the voices of those living with HIV and AIDS and uplift the ongoing work to end stigma and discrimination while supporting the care and health of our communities. This conversation is the second in our Board curated series.

We offer Digital Wisdom Conversations at no cost to attendees.

These conversations focus on special topics, womanist preaching history, and moderated discussions with partners, board members, and other guests. Our work in this area began in 2020 when the pandemic necessitated a ceasing of in-person events and WomanPreach! Inc. was celebrating its 10th Anniversary. We began these offerings with our series Sankofa Conversations. Now, WomanPreach! Inc. works with partners and sponsors to continue to provide enriching experiences to #WomanPreachNation and beyond.

Our digital conversations can be rewatched via our Facebook page or YouTube channel.

February 11, 2021, Rev. Teresa L. Fry Brown, Ph.D., shared Jarena Lee’s Legacy with us. Dr. Fry Brown is the fourteenth Historiographer of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. This series was presented in partnership with Christian Theological Seminary.

Our five-part Sankofa series celebrated WomanPreach! Inc.’s first ten (10) years of work with the people who helped begin and sustain the organization.

The series kicked off in May 2020 with a conversation featuring Rev. Dr. Gina Stewart and Dr. Renita Weems.
